Built by horse people, for horse people
About Horse Layover
A trusted guide to horse-friendly overnight stops, from private farms to fairgrounds across America.
Our Story
Why we built Horse Layover
Horse Layover was born out of a simple frustration. My wife hauls horses regularly, and she was constantly struggling to find reliable overnight stops online. The information was scattered across outdated websites, hard-to-navigate directories, and endless forum threads. There had to be a better way.
As a software engineer, I wanted to build her something that actually worked - a modern, easy-to-use tool where you could quickly search for horse-friendly accommodations, see them on a map, and find what you need without the hassle.
That's how Horse Layover came to be. We know there are other directories out there, but our goal is simple: to be the most up-to-date, easiest-to-use resource for finding horse-friendly stops across the country.
Directory Growth
Help us expand the directory
We're actively working to expand our listing database, but we can't do it alone. If you own or know of a horse-friendly property, we'd love to hear from you! Listing your place is completely free and helps fellow equestrians find safe, reliable overnight stops.
